Dr. Tan Ying Zhou (Dr. YZ Tan) is the founder and Medical Director of Mizu Aesthetic Clinic (previously Simplistiq), which was set up in April 2015.
Having obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from St. George’s, University of London, and further pursued his interest in aesthetic medicine by interning in Dermatology at the National Taiwan University Hospital.
Having all along set his sights on running his own aesthetic clinic, Dr. YZ Tan realised his ambition after putting tremendous effort into mastering the skills and pooling the resources. With a fiercely entrepreneurial spirit and his interest in Aesthetic medicine, he saw through each step of putting the clinic business together.
Being a young doctor has very much been an advantage for Dr. YZ Tan as he is in the target group of popular trends that drive the aesthetics world, allowing him to react swiftly to the changing demands of his patients. With more than 15 conferences and workshops attended around the world in the last two years, Dr Tan always keeps up to date with the latest technology and procedures.
Due to his expertise and experience, Dr Tan has been earmarked by Discovery Pico, Dysport and Galderma as a trainer for up-and-coming aesthetic doctors. He also regularly attends global and regional conferences, as well as enrolls in courses to keep abreast of latest techniques and technology in aesthetic medicine.
Dr. YZ Tan’s utmost expertise lies in nose augmentation, anti-aging solutions, and personalising his treatments to each individual’s aging and facial concerns. He strongly believes that aesthetics can significantly retain one’s youth and transform the aging process into a graceful, pleasant journey.
An avid scuba diver and underwater photographer, some of Dr Tan’s underwater pictures are part of Mizu’s décor. The rebranding of Simplistiq into Mizu also stems from Dr Tan’s passion about the ocean and his plans to promote marine conservation and education through some of his work and pictures.
