I believe beauty is not only skin-deep.

Our mission at Mizu is bringing out the best in you. Good skin can be enhanced by aesthetic products and services, but for your skin to truly shine, it all starts with you.

A holistic approach involves plenty of exercise, hydration, and a well-balanced diet coupled with an individually-tailored skincare program or procedures. It all starts from within.

Mizu’s approach to good skin is exactly just that – simple.

We advocate clean eating, fuss-free workouts, healthy practices and good skincare regimes that you can carry out in your everyday lives. It’s not about over-taxing your skin and body, but nurturing it to its full potential to achieve the results you desire. I believe that with our simple guidance and services, we will be able to achieve your expectations of great skin, a healthier body, and an overall radiant outlook.

Is healthy perfect skin such a myth?

Although flawless, porcelain-like skin might not be attainable for everyone, brighter radiant and healthier skin is possible for just about anyone.

I’ve come up with a list of 7 habits for the perfect skin:

1. Exercise
2. Eat well
3. Rest well
4. Go easy on makeup
5. Swear by sunscreen
6. Cleansing
7. Skin care regime

1. Exercise

Regular exercise is one of the keys to healthy skin.

We often hear people say they feel better or look better because they have started exercising. We hear this because it is true. Exercising improves our circulation which in turns brings nutrients to our skin, and also removes waste products such as free radicals from our skin cells.

Exercising plays a huge part in keep our body, hence our skin, healthy and radiant.

2. Eat (and drink) well

It is common knowledge that a balanced diet contributes to better health.

Antioxidants and vitamins are vital in keeping our skin healthy and delay the signs of aging. Hydrating your body is one of the best things you can do to keep your skin in shape. Keeping your body hydrated keeps your skin moist; and that makes our skin more plump so fine lines and wrinkles are less noticeable. Water also helps improve circulation, keeping your skin healthy and glowing.

Here is an interesting hydration calculator by H4H which calculates the amount of water you should drink per day.

3. Rest

Yes. We all NEED our beauty sleep. Beauty sleep is real.

When you don’t get enough rest, your skin shows signs of tiredness. Tired skin sags, loses radiance and ages faster. Lack of sleep also causes eye bags, dark eye circles, oiler skin, and acne outbreaks. Your body and skin repairs itself when you sleep. While you sleep, your skin renews itself. Ample rest will go a long way to achieve that radiant skin you want.

4. Go easy on your make up

Choosing the right make up is important. And try not to cake your face in make up for prolonged periods. Our skin needs to ‘breathe’ and some make up, especially oil-based cosmetics, clogs pores and dulls the skin.

At Mizu, we aim to achieve bright and radiant skin with the least amount of cosmetic used. If you are one who requires daily make up due to your working environment, drop by Mizu and find out what can you do to refresh and liven your skin.

5. Sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen

Sunscreen IS the most important protection that all men and women should have. The UV rays from the sun cause pigmentation (freckles, sun spots, age spots etc.), wrinkles, age the skin, reduces brightness, and increase the risk of skin cancer.

Choosing a suitable sunscreen is also paramount. Choose a sunscreen that protects against UV A and UV B rays and one that is preferably SPF 30 and above. Go for a lighter sunscreen such as a water-based product which does not clog pores. Look out for ‘non-comedogenic’ sunscreens that are light, provides protection, and does not leave a greasy feeling.

Watch this space as Mizu is developing our own sunscreen that is water-based, feels light on the skin, and most importantly, provides the protection against harmful UV rays.

6. Cleansing

It’s all about being clean.

Religiously wash your face twice a day, in the morning and at night, with a suitable facial cleanser that you know works for you. Make sure that you never go to bed with any make up on as this can irritate the skin and cause acne.

Use toner. Using a toner after cleansing has many benefits. Toners can help shrink pores, stimulates skin renewal, and balance skin pH.

Drop by and check out our very own range of cleanser and toner. Have a good face day, every day.

7. Individually-tailored skincare regime

A skincare regime is required to maintain that good skin for as long as possible. A good skincare regime can delay the signs of aging, keep the skin clean and bright, makes you look younger and less tired, and most of all gives us the utmost confidence to face the world every day.

When it comes to aesthetic treatments, every individual is unique in their needs and wants. Mizu believes that there are no cookie-cutter solutions for everyone, and advocates personalisation to create the best yet simple solution.
